This dynamic duo works at the forefront of cool German club music and its media since ages. As a producer in the 90s he released and worked as A&R for “Harthouse”. He established himself a cornerstone in every sensible techno-history, with still legendary projects such as Arpeggiators or AWeX. As resident DJ at Frankfurt’s very own “Dorian Gray” he belongs to the heritage of the Frankfurt sound. Tom is hosting guests from John Acquaviva and Oliver Huntemann to Sis and Reboot, in other words from Techno to House. As a radio-host Tom’s playlist boasts cool contemporary clubsounds between trend und tradition. In fact, it was by means of tradition that Tom Wax hooked up with Franksen in the studio. Franksen is „On Air“ since 8 years, hosting Germany’s longest-running DJ-Radioshow. Today’s YOU FM CLUBNIGHT is a real radio-gem and Franksen cares passionately about booking, hosting and DJing. All the flavours of house- and techno are represented with groovy tracks, a vibrant presentation and well-chosen guests. Meanwhile, Franksen works as a club DJ and writes for Germany’s dance-magazines „Groove“ and „Raveline“. While Tom took his way via techno und electro, Franksen emphasizes house und deephouse- structures and vibes in their colab. Their personal approach of „need to dance to it“ fuses their ideas. Driving beats, organic percussions, electronic funk or global vibes, it’s all in there. Now that they know even more about their vitae vice versa, they put all their expertise together to make some fine tracks.

Welcome to the new and relaxing but also adventurous dope beat ambient trip hop funk soul experience by the two great germans Oliver Bondzio and Ramon Zenker. As Hardfloor they worked out their own place in music history by releasing great electronic music. In 1992 they released their “Hardtrance Acperience EP” on Sven Väth ’s cult status label Harthouse. This EP made them famous for their innovative sound far beyond European boundaries, the song “Acperience 1″, which even made its way into the UK charts, is still one of the milestones of Techno culture. Apart from working as producers Hardfloor are very requested remixers for International pop acts like Depeche Mode, Mike Oldfield, New Order, Yello, Human League, Mory Kante and Anne Clark. In 1995 Hardfloor presented the first DDPNP EP on Harthouse which was followed by the second in 1997 and in 1999 by the first album on !K7. As DDPNP Bondzio, who socialized with Hip Hop and Electro, and Zenker, who began his musical education with e-bass and synthesizer, went to the more relaxed areas of electronic music using dope beats, funky electro basslines, samples from nearly every genre and the 303 structures they are famous for. For the new album “The Cheerleaders Are Smilin’ At You” they engaged the fabulous upcoming female Jazz and Soul singer Bella Wagner from Vienna who gave her warm, soulful voice of high contrast to the 11th track of the album. The other support on this record is the 24 old DJ, turntablist and producer DJ Rafik. The six times DJ-World-Champion, part of the Lordz Of Fitness Crew and the “Cosmic Delivery Project” gave his extraordinary scratches to the tunes number 5 and number 13 of the album giving them a touch of weird funkyness. The diversity of this album is also supported by the artists Jen, who is part of different bands like Rabbit In Red, Boyracer or Possum Moods and the Iran born and London based MC Blade, who supported Eminem and recorded one of the best selling Hip Hop Albums in the UK with his partner and producer Mark B. Moreover the hungarian female singer Virág is joining the collective. Her voice appears in tracks that found their places on released from labels like Plastic City or Shayan Music. On this album the collective presents sounds and moods between Trip Hop, Downbeat, Soul, Funk, Acid and Electro in a mixture that brings high comfort to the listener but furthermore the possibility to explore great music with wonderful quotations and a relaxed music experience. The new “Pearl Diver” continues with compiling the biggest and most shiny pearls of lounge music on CD. This time Lemongrass dived into the clear blue sea to pick up an outstanding collection of pearls. Lemongrass alias Roland Voss educated himself in music in three decades. After playing drums in rock bands, funk groups and jazz ensembles during the seventies he explored the possibilities of electronic instruments in the eighties. Before signing at Mole Listening Pearls in 1999 for his first album Lumière Obscure he went his way through diverse musical styles like Drum’n’Bass, Lounge, Jazz, Trip Hop, Jungle, Hip Hop and Ambient to figure out where he could find his place in the electronic music landscape and released his very first album “Drumatic Universe” on Incoming!. Until now he has released more than ten Lemongrass albums on Mole Listening Pearls and made his timeless soundart to an institution in lounge music. In 2008 he summarized the best tracks of the late Lemongrass albums (“Fleure Solaire”, “Ikabana”, “Filmothèque”, “Pour L’Amour”) to a best-of-album called “Beach Affairs”. But now it is time to have a closer look the collection of “Pearl Diver”: Starting with Kevin Yost’s breezy „Otherside Of The World Remix“ of his own track “Habla Mi Corazón” the collection takes off with some jazzy und funky house rhythms in the tracks of Dr. Girlfriend and Tafubar. Then a moody and smoky phase of jazz-infected downbeat tracks take place. Miss Kay Dee, I Am Sam, Dadamnphreaknoizphunk, Northbound, Banda Dalai Lam and the Weathertunes create an erotic atmosphere with dirty basslines and beautiful voices. Now a phase of very deep ambient tracks begins with lifting up the emotions with the tracks of Eskadet, Rencause and nor elle. Lemongrass finishes this with his Deep House Mix of “Lose You” by Jet Tricks feat. Ade Funk & Faye Houston. Finally the compilation leads out with very warm downbeats of ielo, Karen Gibson Roc, Faro, Five Seasons and arrives at the highlight of the record: Audio Lotion’s “Arabesque” where melancholic spanish guitars are expressing the hope and romance of the lonesome. With this beautiful collection of laid-back tracks Lemongrass expresses the wishfulness to the warm months and invites his audience, to open up the mind to the time. Available formats: CD, mp3.
